This past weekend, we had the joy of partnering with Iredell County Parks & Recreation to host the annual Fall Fun & Food Trucks event in Statesville, North Carolina! It was the perfect fall day with some amazing autumn weather that set the tone for our event.
Families from across the county came together to enjoy an afternoon filled with awesome food trucks, interactive kids’ games, and a variety of local vendors showcasing handmade goods, crafts, and services.
Our Heartstrings program provided some wonderful live music for the event, which became a central part of the fall fun! Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Kewaunee Labs, we were able to feature two incredible live music groups: The TrueRiders and Cosmic Hillbilly Experience, whose performances brought tons of energy and joy to the crowd.
One of the most heartfelt moments of the day came when one of our foster parents took the stage to share her personal story. She spoke candidly about her journey to becoming her grandson’s kinship guardian, offering a glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of fostering within family. Her courage and love touched everyone in attendance and reminded us why we do what we do.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this fun day, to those who volunteered their time, and to our partners who helped make this event possible. It was definitely the perfect way to kick off the fall season. View some more event photos below!
