Children’s Hope Alliance is honored to be one of ten grant recipients recognized at the Burke Women’s Fund Annual Celebration at Morganton Community House on September 16th, 2025. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to attend this inspiring event and connect with other organizations working to make a difference in our community. The recognition and support from the Burke Women’s Fund mean so much to our team and the families we serve. This funding will enable us to continue our mission of empowering parents and ensuring the safety and well-being of families in Burke County.

This generous grant supports our Catawba Valley Healthy Families (CVHF) Safety Series: a vital initiative designed to promote child safety and provide essential resources to families in our community. With the support of the Burke Women’s Fund, we will be able to host two Child Safety Events, each focusing on critical topics such as car seat safety, nutrition and food safety practices, and basic car maintenance.
Each event will include a meal, a presenter, and a service or item related to the specific safety topic. For example, the car maintenance event will give a battery charger as a giveaway. These events will provide education, resources, and social support networks to families, helping them to stay healthy and safe.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Burke Women’s Fund for their generous support. This grant will make a significant impact on the lives of families in Burke County, helping us to create a safer and more nurturing environment for children to thrive.” –Sarah Haymore, Catawba Valley Healthy Families Program Manager
About our Catawba Valley Healthy Families Program
Our Catawba Valley Healthy Families program is a voluntary home visitation program accredited by Healthy Families America. It is designed to empower parents to support their children’s healthy development by creating nurturing and safe home environments. The program serves families in Burke, Caldwell, and McDowell Counties and is offered at no cost thanks to grant funding.
Our Family Support Specialists work directly with families in their homes, providing guidance on positive parenting strategies, age-appropriate development, bonding and attachment, and access to community resources. Support begins prenatally or within the first three months after a baby’s birth and can continue until the child turns five. Services are tailored to each family’s needs, with many completing the program within three years.
Children’s Hope Alliance is committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of families in the Burke County community. We look forward to working with the Burke Women’s Fund and other community partners to continue providing essential services and support to those in need!
